How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Provide and operate the INDIL platform — processing orders, matching riders, facilitating payments, and delivering goods;
  • Manage your account — creating and maintaining your customer or business profile;
  • Personalise your experience — showing relevant products, nearby stores, featured items, and trending products based on your location and preferences;
  • Send notifications — order confirmations, delivery updates, promotional offers (where you have opted in), and important service updates;
  • Improve the platform — analysing usage data to enhance features, fix issues, and develop new services;
  • Process payments — facilitating secure transactions via supported payment methods;
  • Comply with legal obligations — maintaining records as required by Gambian law, responding to lawful requests from authorities;
  • Prevent fraud and abuse — detecting and preventing fraudulent transactions, security breaches, and misuse of the platform.
4

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract: Processing necessary to provide the services you have requested (e.g. processing orders, delivering goods);
  • Legitimate interests: Processing for purposes such as fraud prevention, platform security, and service improvement;
  • Consent: Where you have given explicit consent, such as for marketing communications or location tracking for personalisation purposes;
  • Legal obligation: Processing required to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

You may withdraw consent at any time by updating your preferences in the app or contacting us. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before the withdrawal.

5

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with the following categories of third parties:

  • Registered Merchants: When you place an order, the relevant business receives your name, delivery address, and order details necessary to fulfil your order;
  • INDIL Riders: Riders receive your delivery address and contact information necessary to complete your delivery;
  • Payment Processors: We share transaction data with our payment providers (including card networks, Afrimoney, and Wave) to process payments securely;
  • Technology Service Providers: We use third-party services for cloud hosting, analytics, push notifications, and mapping (including Google Maps API). These providers are contractually obligated to handle data securely and only for the purposes specified;
  • Legal & Regulatory Authorities: We may disclose personal data if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority.

All third parties with whom we share data are required to maintain appropriate security measures and to process data only in accordance with our instructions and applicable law.

6

Location Data

The INDIL app uses location data to provide core functionality, including:

  • Automatically detecting your location to show nearby stores and markets;
  • Enabling accurate delivery address entry using Google Maps API and Plus Codes;
  • Tracking rider location in real-time to provide live delivery updates;
  • Optimising delivery routes for efficiency.

You can control location permissions through your device settings. Disabling location access may limit certain app features. We do not share your precise real-time location with third parties beyond what is necessary for delivery fulfilment.

7

Payment Data

INDIL does not store your full card numbers or CVV codes. Payment card data is processed directly by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processing partners. We retain only tokenised references and the last four digits of your card for display purposes within the app.

Your INDIL Wallet balance is stored securely within our platform. All transactions are encrypted in transit and at rest.

8

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with our legal obligations:

  • Account data: Retained for the duration of your account and for up to 3 years after account closure;
  • Order history: Retained for 7 years for financial record-keeping purposes;
  • Transaction data: Retained for 7 years in accordance with financial regulations;
  • Communication records: Retained for 2 years from the date of communication;
  • Usage and analytics data: Retained in anonymised or aggregated form indefinitely.

When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymised.

9

Your Rights

You have the following rights in relation to your personal data held by INDIL:

  • Right of access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • Right to rectification: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Right to erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records;
  • Right to restrict processing: You may ask us to restrict how we process your data in certain circumstances;
  • Right to data portability: You may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
  • Right to object: You may object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes;
  • Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@indil.gm. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

10

Security

INDIL takes the security of your personal data seriously. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, or alteration, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS (Transport Layer Security);
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest;
  • Access controls limiting who within INDIL can access personal data;
  • Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments;
  • Secure, tokenised handling of payment information.
